Statute 25-306a: Withdrawal of candidacy; procedure and deadline for withdrawal;
omission of name from ballot.
Any person who has been nominated to be a candidate at any primary election for
any national, state, county or township office may cause such person's name to
be withdrawn from nomination by a request in writing, signed by the person
nominated and acknowledged before an officer qualified to take acknowledgments
of deeds, and filed with the secretary of state in the case of national and
state offices or with the county election officer in the case of county and
township offices not later than 12:00 noon, on the day fixed for the deadline
for filing of a petition for nomination or the declaration of intent to become
a candidate in accordance with
K.S.A. 25-205, and amendments thereto. No name
so withdrawn shall be printed on the ballots for such office for such primary
election.
