Statute 21-3807: Compounding a crime.
(a) Compounding a crime is accepting or agreeing to accept anything of
value as consideration for a promise: (1) Not to initiate or aid in
the prosecution of a person who has committed a crime; or (2) to
intentionally conceal or destroy evidence of a crime.
(b) Compounding a felony is a severity level 8, nonperson felony.
(c) Compounding a misdemeanor is a class A nonperson misdemeanor.
